The book, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt dives into the life of a 13 year old boy whose life is turned upside down after finding a painting of a goldfinch in a museum explosion that killed his mother. After this, Theodore Decker is forced to live with his alcoholic father in Las Vegas for two years of his life. Using the help of one of the boys in Las Vegas, Boris, Theodore makes his way back to Brooklyn and continues to live there for the following eight years. However, someone ended up with the painting of The Goldfinch and Boris helps him to try to get it back.
Throughout the majority of "The Goldfinch", the story takes place in Brooklyn, New York.
